Denver Budget Cycle: January - March = New Budget Year Begins
Budget Process: Q2 April through June - Publish CAFR, Prepare Budget Calendar, Agency budgeting begins
Q3 Budget Process - July through Sept. - CFO and Mayor Budget Review, Release Proposed Mayor's Budget
Q4 Budget Process - Oct. through Dec. - Council Review and Budget Adoption

The Mayor's City Budget

The 2021 City Budget Book (PDFs: Volume 1, 2, & 3(PDF, 25MB) and the Line-Item Budget(PDF, 15MB)) is finalized in December of each year and provides detailed information about the City and County of Denver's estimated revenues and expenditures for the ensuing fiscal year. It also serves as a work plan for the city and its departments, including a framework for setting priorities, strategic initiatives, and performance measures.

City Council held agency hearings with several city departments and offices. Watch and read those presentations.
