The Office of the Independent Monitor (OIM) is the civilian oversight agency for the City and County of Denver Police and Sheriff Departments (DPD and DSD, respectively). The OIM was created by the Mayor and City Council in 2004 and has several essential functions:
The mediation program is managed by the OIM and is a collaborative effort with the Denver Police Department, the Denver Sheriff Department, and Community Mediation Concepts.
