Celebrating This Spring? Hop To It and Get All Recommended Vaccinations

Gathering your Peeps for the big bunny hop? The best way to stay protected and protect everyone around you from severe illness and hospitalization is by staying up to date with flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, including the Omicron vaccine. Flu season can last into spring, so there is still time for you to get a flu vaccine. Go to the Denver Dept. of Public Health & Environment’s flu webpage to find a flu vaccine near you.

As always, when gathering in large groups, follow public health best practices for staying safe. Some of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones include:

  • Getting all recommended vaccines, including flu and COVID-19.
  • Improving air quality and ventilation by running your HVAC system and air purifiers for the duration of the event, and/or opening doors and windows.
  • Consider wearing a mask around others if you are immunocompromised or are concerned about getting sick.
  • Get tested and stay home if you are feeling sick.

If you test positive, contact your health care provider for treatment. Effective treatment for COVID-19 is available if it is administered within five to seven days of symptom onset. More information and resources are available at denvergov.org/covid19.
