Fees are assigned to a project throughout the process by different departments or agencies. To estimate fees for your project, see the fee schedules below.

  • The affordable housing fee is due in full at the time the building permit(s) is issued. It will be assessed alongside standard permit fees, and building permits will not be issued if this fee is not paid.
  • Beginning July 1, 2018, and each July 1 annually thereafter, linkage fees are adjusted for inflation in an amount equal to the percentage change from the previous year in the national Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U). 
  • For mixed-use buildings, the affordable housing fees listed below are based upon the new floor area in the structure attributable to each proposed use.

Same Day Plan Review Fees

Plan review of Commercial and Residential Same-Day permits shall be charged at a rate of 20% of the Permit Fee, with a minimum charge of $100 for all projects valued over $2,000.00.

 
Inspection Fees

Permit fees provide for the customary inspections only.  Reinspection, inspections conducted outside of normal business hours, and miscellaneous, non-customary inspections required by the Agency shall be charged at the rate of $100.00 per hour of inspection.  Inspections conducted outside of normal business hours shall be pre-paid and incur a two-hour minimum charge.

How to pay fees

Online:

Many of our plan review and permit fees can be paid online by credit card or electronic check. If your fees are eligible for online payment, you will receive an email from us with instructions. To learn more, visit e-permits.

In person:

Fees may be paid at our cashier Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Wellington Webb Building (see map).
