Public Parking Lots and Garages

Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) manages both surface parking lots and parking garages that are accessible by the general public. When planning your trip to Denver or looking for somewhere to park for living, working or playing, consider using one of the City's parking lots or garages. More information is available below.

Public Surface Lots

Public Surface Lot Locations

There are currently seven surface public parking lots managed by DOTI Parking Operations. These public parking lots are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all visitors and guests attending activities in the downtown area. All of these parking lots are managed, under contract, by a professional parking company.

Parking Rates

Morning/Daytime and Evening Hourly Rates (non-event times) – Pay at time of parking

  • Rates vary from $3 to $12 depending on the lot location and time of day. Cash and major credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted. 

Event Parking Rates vary from $5 to $12 - Pay at time of parking 

  • The event rate, posted at the entrance, may vary daily depending on the number and type of events in the area. The posted event rate supersedes hourly rates. Cash and major credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted. 

Monthly Parking

  • Affordable monthly parking is available for individuals, groups, or businesses. Please contact Standard Parking at 303-607-9093 for rates and availability.

Accessible Parking

People with disabilities have special parking privileges when displaying an disability placard, plate, or parking hang tag.

Meter Parking for those with disabilities

A person with a mobility impairment using a valid disability placard or plate issued to them may park at Denver City meters for the time period authorized by the parking meter or for four (4) consecutive hours, whichever is greater, without paying during the time parking is allowed. At the end of the authorized time period, the vehicle must be moved at least 100 feet from the parking metered space.

Accessible Spaces

A person with a mobility impairment using a valid disability placard or plate issued to them may park in a space marked as reserved for use by those with disabilities.

Pay for Parking with the Pay by Phone app

PayByPhone lets you to pay for parking in seconds. The app allows you to extend your parking session from anywhere and will even remind you when your parking session is about to expire! Parking with PayByPhone is convenient, easy and secure. Once you have downloaded the app and registered for an account, you can park in just a few easy steps.

1 — Get the Mobile App

Go to m.paybyphone.com on your mobile device to download the iPhone or Android app.

2 — Register

To use the service, create a free PayByPhone account on the mobile app (on iOS and Android devices), the web app at www.paybyphone.com, or by phone 24/7 at 888-680-7275 (the account will be activated immediately and the parking session can be started on the initial phone call). The following information is required to set up an account:

  • Mobile phone number
  • Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover)
  • License plate of car(s)

The next time you call or log on, your details will be automatically recognized.

3 — Enter Location

Enter the location number posted on the PayByPhone signs

Enter stall number (if required)

4 — Enter Time

Select a parking duration. 

5 — Confirm Payment


Pay by License Plate 

With our Pay-on-Foot payment system, parking is easy and convenient. Simply park in any non-reserved stall and immediately proceed to the automated pay station located within the parking lot.  Purchase your parking using your license plate number and then proceed directly to your destination. There is no longer any need to display your receipt unless specifically instructed to do so.

Restrictions

  • There is no free parking at any time.
  • No in-and-out parking is allowed. A new purchase must be made when re-entering the lot.
  • No oversized vehicles or trailers are allowed. 
  • Bicycles, skateboards, and roller-skates/blades are not allowed in the lots.
  • Soliciting and/or distribution of literature is strictly prohibited.
  • The parking lot speed limit is 5 mph.
  • Pre-paid coupons or parking passes are not valid when the lot is full or closed.
  • Improperly parked vehicles are subject to ticketing (private or City & County of Denver issued) and towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.
  • Fees are for the temporary use of a parking stall only, no bailment is created. 
  • The owners and operators of the surface parking lots assume no liability and hereby declare themselves not responsible for fire, theft, damage to or loss of vehicle, or any article left therein.

Advertised event rates are posted at the entrance and vary from $5 to $12. Posted event rates supersedes hourly rates.  Event parkers must exit the garage by 11:59 pm or incur additional parking fees. 

Garage Entrance
The entrance is located on 12th Avenue between Broadway and Acoma Street. The Complex Garage address is 65 West 12th Avenue, Denver, CO  80204

Features

  • Electric Vehicle Charging Stations — available on 3rd floor of the Cultural Center Complex garage. Charging at these stations is currently free with paid admission to the garage. If you have questions please contact the Parking Manager at 303-607-9093.
  • Accessible Parking — Designated ADA accessible parking is available on level P2.  A valid state issued handicapped placard or license plate is required at all times.  All disability parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Vehicle Exiting Procedures

  • Hourly Parkers — Present your ticket received upon entry to the cashier or automated drive-up pay station and pay the appropriate hourly parking fees. 
  • ALL After Hours Parkers (Event or Hourly) — All vehicles leaving after hours (typically between 10pm and 8am) will need to use the automated drive-up pay station located at the garage exit. The drive-up pay station accepts cash, coins, and major credit cards (Visa and MasterCard).

Lost or Missing Entry Ticket — Vehicles unable to present a valid entry ticket/slip will be required to pay the Lost Ticket Fee, so please make sure you keep your timed entry ticket to avoid additional charges.

Garage Entrance

The garage entrance is located on N. Delaware Street between West 14th Avenue and West 13th Avenue. The garage address is 490 West 14th Avenue, Denver, CO  80204

Features

  • Pre-Paid Event Parking Permit — Pre-paid permits can be purchased in advance for large events or functions.  Event organizers are encouraged to contact the garage parking management office at (303) 640-1096 for more details. 
  • Accessible Parking — Designated ADA accessible parking is available on level P2, next to the elevator lobby.  A valid state issued handicapped placard or license plate is required at all times. All disability parking is on a first-come, first-served basis and payment is required for parking in these stalls.

Payment

  • Parking payment is managed by Pay-by-Space immediately after parking your vehicle. Parking fees are collected by noting your vehicle stall number (painted on the floor) and proceeding to an automated pay station for payment processing.  Automated pay stations are located in the main elevator lobbies on parking levels 2 and 3 only.  After purchasing your desired length of time, just keep your receipt and proceed to your destination.
  • Payment Methods: cash, coin, or major credit card (Visa and MasterCard only).  The pay stations do return change on notes of $20 or smaller.

Restrictions

  • Maximum vehicle height clearance is 8' 2".
  • There is no free parking at any time.
  • Levels 2 and 3 are shared with the US Post Office. Postal customers and employee parking stalls are clearly marked for their exclusive use only. Individuals parking in designated USPS parking locations and not conducting business in the Post Office are subject to ticketing.
  • No in and out parking is allowed on a single stall number payment.
  • No trailers or oversized vehicles are allowed.
  • Bicycles, skateboards, and roller-skates/blades are not allowed in the garage.
  • Soliciting and/or distribution of literature is prohibited.

Denver Performing Arts Complex Garage

Hours

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Open to all visitors and guests attending any event or engaging in any business in the downtown area. If you are coming to a scheduled performance in the Arts Complex, please remember to arrive early to avoid possible event traffic congestion. The Performing Arts Complex is home to many theatres that may have performances at the same time as yours. Please allow plenty of time for traffic, parking, and finding your seats.

Events: Parking rate is $15 – Pre-Paid at the garage entrances

The event rate, posted at the entrances, may vary daily depending on the number and/or type of performances in the Arts Complex. The posted event rate supersedes hourly rates. Pre-paid event parkers must exit the garage by midnight or incur additional parking fees. Cash and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover) are accepted.  Please keep your entry ticket receipt, as it may be requested upon leaving the facility.

Two Garage Entrances

The Garage has two entrances, 13th Street at Curtis Street AND Arapahoe between 13th and 14th Streets. The Complex Garage address is 1055 13th Street, Denver, CO 80204

  • Electric Vehicle Charging Stations — Electric Vehicle charging stations are now available on 4th floor of the Denver Center for Performing Arts Complex garage. Charging at these stations is currently free with paid admission to the garage. If you have questions please contact the Parking Manager at (303) 607-9093.
  • Accessible Parking — Designated accessible parking is available on all levels.  A valid state issued handicapped placard or license plate is required at all times.  All accessible parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.       

Vehicle Exiting Procedures

  • Event Parkers — In most cases, if you exit the garage during the main egress of vehicles after a large performance, the exit gates will be open for a fast and unobstructed vehicle exit. For guests leaving early, leaving late, attending a small performance or event, or attending a weekday matinee performance, the pre-paid ticket receipt received at the entrance will need to be presented back to a cashier or drive-up pay station. Once the ticket receipt is validated, the gate swings open and the vehicle may leave.  Vehicles unable to present a valid pre-paid ticket receipt will be required to pay the Lost Ticket fee of $30 – So please make sure you keep your pre-paid entry ticket receipt to avoid additional charges.
  • Hourly Parkers — Present your ticket received upon entry to the cashier or automated drive-up pay station and pay the appropriate hourly parking fees.
  • ALL After Hours Parkers (Pre-paid Event or Hourly) — All vehicles, pre-paid event or hourly, leaving after hours (typically between 10pm and 8am) will need to use the automated drive-up pay stations located at both garage exits.  The drive-up pay stations accept cash, coins, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover).

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Even though 80 percent of vehicle charging occurs at home, the City recognizes that drivers could benefit from plugging in away from home to increase their electric range.
