Active Older Adults

SilverSneakers® is an Older Adult and Senior exercise program that is provided free to members of select health care companies. The intent of the SilverSneakers® programs is to provide opportunities for older adults and seniors to attend regular exercise classes to improve health and prevent simple injuries. Denver Parks and Recreation allows cardholders to drop-in on other activities in addition to exercise classes. Our goal is to introduce older participants to a culture of exercise and activity, which can extend to drop-in games, drop-in to our weight rooms and aquatic facilities at participating SilverSneakers® Centers.

PICKLEBALL is a fun game that is a cross between tennis and ping pong. The game is easy for beginners to learn, but can be a fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players as well.

Due to noise considerations for surrounding neighbors, outdoor pickleball play is only allowed between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. during the winter season.

All courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t forget your paddle! Parks and recreation centers do not provide paddles. 

These group meetings provide individuals with an opportunity to engage in activities of interest or experience. Club settings are a great place for social interaction while developing one's skill with a particular hobby! All of our clubs run year round so you can join anytime!

This meal is on us! Recreation center staff will pull together a table of tasty food and provide a welcoming atmosphere to socialize with your neighbors and make new friends. You must preregister (two days in advance) to participate.
