Noise Complaints

When complaints of excessive noise are received by DDPHE, an inspector is assigned to investigate the complaint. If the complaint is legitimate, the source of the noise (individual/company/organization) receives a verbal or written warning of the violation requiring a noise reduction to a legal level. If the source does not comply with the warning, an administrative citation or a court summons is issued. If guilty, a fine of up to $999 per incident can be levied by the court.

The Public Health Inspections division will respond to a complaint within 72 business hours. If immediate assistance is required, please contact the Denver Police Non-Emergency line at 720-913-2000.

*Please note, the noise complaint process is being revamped to better utilize staff time and resources. Field investigations will be determined on a case-by-case basis. However, written warnings and enforcement actions may still take place.
