Recycle, Compost, Trash: Collection Schedules and Reminders

Service will be delayed one day following the holidays listed below:

2024

• New Year's Day: Monday, January 1
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Monday, January 15
• Presidents' Day: Monday, February 19
• César Chávez Day (Observed): Monday, March 25
• Memorial Day: Monday, May 27
• Juneteenth: Wednesday, June 19
• Independence Day: Thursday, July 4
• Labor Day: Monday, September 2
• Veterans Day: Monday, November 11
• Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, November 28
• Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25

When service falls on or after a holiday, your collection will be delayed one day for the rest of that week only. There will be no delays for city holidays that do not impact collection schedules.

For example, for a Monday holiday, collections will be on Tuesday, Tuesday's collection on Wednesday, etc., with Thursday's collections on Friday for that week only.

If your trash or recycling collection wasn't completed on your scheduled day, please leave carts out for crews to collect before the end of the week. Crews are tracking routes that need to be completed. Make sure your carts are accessible and that the area is clear of snow. Report other service-related issues to us at Denver Utilities Online or denvergov.org. Do not submit duplicate tickets for issues as this will slow our response times.

• HOLIDAY WEEKS: During holiday weeks, the collection schedule is delayed by one day following the holiday. 
• BLOCKED OR IMPROPER SET OUT: Sometimes trash or recycling can’t be collected because containers are blocked or were set out incorrectly. Check the cart service guidelines to make sure your containers were set out correctly.
