Recycle, Compost, & Trash

The City and County of Denver collects more than 220,000 tons of waste from Denver homes each year. That's an average of 1.2 tons per household each year.

In August, collection days are changing for many City and County of Denver trash, recycling and compost customers!

Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is changing trash, recycling and compost collection routes to operate and serve customers more efficiently. Starting August 2, collection days will change for many customers. DOTI will be communicating these changes to residents in the coming weeks. Look for details in DOTI’s Aug-Dec Wastewise newsletter, scheduled to arrive in mailboxes in late June/early July.
