2022 Special Events Safety WEEK March 1 - 4

Choreographed Lights and Music at Denver's City and County Building

View a video of the first light and music show of the 2021 season or come downtown and see it in person. The show lasts about 8 minutes and happens nightly at 5:45 pm and 6:45 pm through Jan 23, 2022. A stunning static light display shines between shows and until 10:45 pm each night.

OSE Permit Now Required, Fees Waived Until Fall of 2022

The Office of Special Events (OSE) has been added to the Denver's Revised Municipal Code. An OSE application and permit is now required for all public events held on public property that work with more than one City agency. Related application processing fees and administrative fees are waived until late fall 2022, for events occurring in 2023.

OSE Ordinance Lunch and Learn: Upcoming Changes for Event Organizers

OSE has officially been added to the Denver's Revised Municipal Code and has begun requiring an Office of Special Events Permit (OSEP) for public events held on public property. Find out what this means for event organizers at a virtual Lunch and Learn on Thurs, Sept 16 from noon to 1 pm.

17th Ave Closure Impacts on City Park Events

Published on June 08, 2021

A construction project has closed 17th Ave for 2.5 blocks just west of Colorado Blvd. Also, 17th between Garfield St & York St is reduced to one lane for eastbound traffic. Parking on 17th between Colorado Blvd & York St is greatly reduced & prohibited on some stretches. This closure will last throughout the summer creating transportation & parking challenges for events in City Park.
