Ballot measure 1B is funding over $48.5 million in new construction and deferred maintenance of health and human services facilities throughout the City. This includes the renovation of Denver Health medical facilities, construction of a new state-of-the-art animal shelter, and completion of a 54,000 square-foot building that provides much needed health and human services to residents of north Denver.
Prior to implementation of the bond program, many of Denver’s low-income child care facilities had outdated heating, plumbing and electrical systems. Several of these facilities have now been renovated or improved through the use of Better Denver bond funds.
