Fees must be paid in person at our office on the 2nd floor of the Wellington Webb Building at the time of filing your appeal. You will also need to fill out an application form, either at our office or bring in your online application form.
Please note that if you simply fax or mail your application, you do not have a hearing date and do not have a case filed with the Board of Adjustment.

Application forms available for download. Please complete and submit to the office of the Board with the appropriate filing fee to begin a zoning appeal.
The Application can either be printed out and completed by hand, or you can type directly onto the form and print it from your computer. When the application is completed you can either file in person at the office of the Board, or via the postal service. Please have the application, the denial or order you are appealing, and the filing fee together.
The following fees are being charged under 188.8.131.52.B., Denver Zoning Code:
1. $100.00: For the following a one hundred dollar fee shall be charged.
a. Enclosures of balconies of individual units of multiple unit dwellings;
b. Special Exceptions for the keeping of animals only;
2. $150.00: For the following a one hundred fifty dollar fee shall be charged.
a. Variances for minor construction including fences and detached sheds;
c. Variances for signage (excluding off-premises signs);
3. $200.00: For the following a fee of two hundred dollars shall be charged.
4. $300.00: For the following a fee of three hundred dollars shall be charged.
b. Variances for violations created by zone lot amendments;
Permit Penalty Fee: A fifty dollar ($50.00) fee will be assessed on appeals from orders when the applicant has taken action or done construction prior to obtaining the required zoning permit.
