Recently we started tagging all email coming from outside our network with the [EXTERNAL] text in the subject line and inserting cautionary advice at the top of the message.

We are doing this to help alert you that this email came from outside the city and that you should NOT CLICK links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender, are expecting the message, and know the content is safe. If you do click on a link that prompts you for your user ID or password or other personal information, DON’T DO IT and report it to the help desk.
