Denver's 2020 Sustainability Goals were created in 2014 in collaboration with other departments and community stakeholders.

There are a total of 24 goals around 12 sustainability areas: Air Quality, Climate, Energy, Food, Health, Housing, Land Use, Materials, Mobility, Water Quality, Water Quantity, Work Force. There is a set of 12 Community Goals and a set of 12 Government Operations Goals.

The Government Operation Goals are more stringent because we at the City and County of Denver believe we need to lead by example for our community. We work across several departments to accomplish both sets of goals in addition to working with a variety of organizations in Denver to progress on the Community Goals.
