The City and County of Denver will host up to 15 MW of community solar gardens on municipal rooftops, over parking lots, and vacant land as part of a signed Master Services Agreement with McKinstry, GRID Alternatives, and Unico Solar Investors. The project is part of the Renewable Denver Initiative, which is supported by a $1 million grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs.

Denver Community Planning and Development (CPD) is launching a pilot program that will incentivize five 100% affordable housing projects and five projects that build according to the new Denver Green Code. The pilot was announced at Mayor Michael B. Hancock’s annual State of the City address on Monday.

Denver Climate Action Task Force finalized recommendations that include reducing the city’s emissions to zero by 2040, 20 percent lower and 10 years earlier than previously planned. The report was produced for the city’s new Office of Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resiliency, which officially launched July 1.
