This project will include the restoration and reconstruction of the Sundial Terrace at Cranmer Park. The scope includes removal, disposal and replacement of the existing sandstone terrace, perimeter retaining and wing walls, and subgrade material. The utility vault, water service, sanitary service, electrical service and storm sewer will also be removed. The existing sundial will be repaired and reset on a stabilized concrete footer base, perimeter cap and step stones will be salvaged, stored and reinstalled, and a universally accessible ramp will be installed.

The Park hill Storm Phase V project continues an 84" storm drainage pipe and 24" sanitary pipe from 48th and Dahlia St. to a point approximately 360-feet north of Smith Road and Dahlia St. The two pipes will pass underneath two private railroad crossings, a BNSF railroad and Interstate 70. Inlet and manhole structural work, water utility relocations, sanitary sewer service reconnections, surface restoration, concrete flatwork, and asphalt paving will also be part of the project scope.

The City and County of Denver has confirmed the need to upgrade (4) existing traffic signals and will oversee the redesign and reconstruction of these intersections. The project consists of the following intersections: (1) Evans Avenue & Holly Street (2) Evans Avenue & Dahlia Street (3) University Boulevard & Dartmouth Avenue (4) Alameda Avenue & Cherokee Street. The overall combined scope is to remove the old traffic signals at the 4 locations including poles, signal heads, pedestrian indications and associated equipment, and replace them with new traffic signals and equipment. Rebuilt signals shall be installed in accordance with City and County of Denver standards, i.e. new poles and mast arms, multiple 12-12-12 overhead indications, accessible countdown pedestrian signals, video detection and associated equipment. Project work also includes upgrade of ADA ramps, sidewalk, and curb & gutter at all locations. No geometric changes will be made to intersection layouts.

The project includes upgrades to sidewalks along the north side of Iowa Avenue, the west side of Santa Fe Drive and at the intersection of the two streets. The project will also include removal of existing staircases, installation of ADA-compliant ramps, alterations or new installation of retaining walls, possible ROW acquisition and lighting improvements as necessary. In addition, the project will require environmental analysis, pedestrian/bicycle signal improvements, protective fencing, upgraded light standards along Santa Fe (to match the Florida Street corridor), resetting fences, and the installation of wayfinding signage and 20 bicycle racks.

The new facility will be a 2-bay fire station of approximately 12,000 square feet. The property is currently owned by the City.
