General Statement of Work: The City and County of Denver is seeking a single consultant to perform design services to the historic Byers and Smiley Branch Libraries. Though only one consultant is expected to be awarded, each library will be managed as a separate project. The awarded consultant will be expected to sign two contracts and meet an M/WBE goal for each contract. Renovation design services for the two buildings must accommodate current usage, meet current code requirements, reduce operating costs through energy efficiencies, and investigate options to improve accessibility. This is a multi-disciplinary design project, including: architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, landscape, and interior design. The buildings are designated historic landmarks and will require architectural services from a highly qualified team demonstrating significant historic renovation, accessibility, and sustainability experience in the field of library design.
Minority and Women Business Enterprise Participation: The separate project goals of 25% for each library must be met with certified participants as set forth in Section 28-65, D.R.M.C. or through the demonstration of a sufficient good faith effort under Section 28-62 D.R.M.C. For compliance with good faith requirements under Section 28-62(b), the M/WBE percentage solicitation level required for this project is 100%.
General: As the City’s best interests may appear, the Manager of Public Works reserves the right to waive informalities in, and to reject any or all, proposals.
