SECURITY GUARD POLICY DEVELOPMENT

In November of 2017, Denver adopted Council Bill 17-1177 which replaced our previous merchant guard and merchant guard company licenses with security guard and private security employer licenses. On May 11th, 2018 Denver Excise and Licenses held a public hearing on proposed rules for implementing this new ordinance. The Department later adopted the Rules Governing Security Guards and Private Security Employers. The new ordinance and rules will officially go into effect on November 1st, 2018.
