Participatory Budgeting


Participatory budgeting (PB) is a democratic process where a community directly decides how to spend a portion of a public budget. Participatory budgeting enables taxpayers to work with their local government to make budget decisions that improve their communities.

Globeville Platte Farm Open Space

Platte Farm Open Space is a resident-led, brownfield to open-space project in Globeville. Upon completion, Platte Farm Open Space will be a unique and important example of how to re-purpose formerly contaminated land for community benefit. The 5.5-acre brownfields site will feature restored short-grass prairie, crusher fines trails, and play space.

Major Redevelopments 

As Denver continues to grow, my office monitors large redevelopments to ensure topics such as affordable housing, strategic mobility, environmental consideration, etc. are part of the conversations from an early stage.

Public Restrooms 
 

The City and County of Denver is working with stakeholder groups in Central Denver to address a growing need for publicly-accessible restrooms and to evaluate options for providing restrooms in high-use, high traffic locations. Accessible public restrooms can benefit public health and the environment, and can even enhance people’s mobility options.
