What are green roofs, and what would they mean for Denver?

Sod roofs have been around for centuries in Scandinavia, and because of a local grassroots effort, they may become a ubiquitous feature on Denver rooftops in the 21st century. Denver voters will have a chance to consider whether all new building development over 25,000 sqft must dedicate a portion of their roof to vegetative space. This would mirror similar legislation in Toronto and San Francisco.
