Denver Arts & Venues is now accepting applications for 2017 P.S. You Are Here (PSYAH) funding opportunities through 5 p.m. Thursday. Sept. 28. Now in its fourth year, PSYAH is a citywide creative placemaking and neighborhood revitalization initiative that cultivates collaborative, community-led outdoor projects in Denver’s public spaces.
In 2017, PSYAH will fund at least $70,000 in grants. Applicants can request up to $10,000 in funding per project. Grants must be matched 1:1 by applicants through cash or in-kind contributions -- goods or services -- or volunteer time. PSYAH funds help support creative, short-term physical improvement projects that aim to transform the city’s underutilized urban spaces to increase collaboration, honor heritage, build civic engagement, beautify neighborhoods, enrich communities, and inspire long-term change.
PSYAH is a program of IMAGINE 2020, Denver’s community-based cultural plan that presents strategic vision and implementation support for arts, culture and creativity contributing significantly to the city’s economy and quality of life.
In 2016 PSYAH provided $71,500 in grants to nine groups in Denver including Birdseed Collective, City Park Alliance/City Park Neighborhood Committee, Civic Center Conservancy, Concerned Citizens of Barnum, Gang Rescue and Support Group, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, Santa Fe Business Improvement District, Thomas Jefferson High School and West Colfax Association of Neighbors. Each of these projects are currently underway.
