Notice of Short Term Rental Public Hearing

Excise and Licenses is considering the adoption of proposed rules and regulations pertaining to the Short-Term Rental Licensing Ordinance. The proposed rules were presented at the November 27, 2018 Short-Term Rental Advisory Committee (STRAC) meeting. The agenda, minutes, and presentation from that meeting are available on the STRAC webpage. The text of the rules being considered can be found here and are posted publicly on the Denver Short-Term Rental webpage. A public hearing on the proposed rules will take place at the Department of Excise and Licenses, 201 West Colfax Avenue, Dept. 206, Denver, Colorado 80202 on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.

Pursuant to the Denver Revised Municipal Code, the Executive Director of the Department of Excise and Licenses is considering the adoption of proposed rules and regulations pertaining to the Short-Term Rental Licensing Ordinance. As you are likely aware, this ordinance approved the licensure of short-term rentals within the City and County of Denver and authorized the Director of the Department to adopt certain rules pertaining to short-term rentals.

 
The proposed rules were presented at the November 27, 2018 Short-Term Rental Advisory Committee (STRAC) meeting, where committee members were given the opportunity to provide input and ask questions. The agenda, minutes, and presentation from that meeting are available on the STRAC webpage. The text of the rules being considered can be found here and are posted publicly on the Denver Short-Term Rental webpage.
 
A public hearing on the proposed rules will take place at the Department of Excise and Licenses, 201 West Colfax Avenue, Dept. 206, Denver, Colorado 80202 on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. Public testimony will be taken at the hearing. Notice of this public hearing was published in the Daily Journal on December 12, 2018, pursuant to the Denver Revised Municipal Code.
 
Members of the public wishing to provide written comment on the rules may do so in one of three ways:
1. Mail comments to the Department of Excise and Licenses at 201 West Colfax Avenue, Dept. 206, Denver, Colorado 80202;
2. Email comments to Erica.Rogers@denvergov.org; or
3. Deliver comments in person at the public hearing.

Written comments submitted via mail or email must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in order to be considered.
