Denver City Council members serve on several different committees, each concerned with various areas of City government. Committees meet regularly to discuss and prepare proposed laws. Councilwoman Mary Beth Susman is the chair of the Neighborhood and Planning committee. She also sits on the Business Development Committee and the Infrastructure and Culture Committee. Additionally, she serves on the following task forces and special assignments:

Analysis of collaborative consumption businesses. i.e. transportation network companies, home, goods, labor, food, and other forms of the emerging sharing economy. Consideration of health and safety, insurance, code restrictions, and other operating issues as they apply to these businesses. Recommendations for the appropriate legislation if and where needed.
