Recycle Christmas Trees through Denver’s Treecycle Program!
Trees will be collected over two extended weekends in January
DENVER – ‘Tis almost time to give your Christmas tree a second life – recycle it through the Denver Public Works Treecycle program! In Denver, trees will be collected over two extended weekends in January. People who participate in Treecycle are helping support the City’s goal of increasing its recycling rate to 34% or greater, as outlined in Mayor Hancock’s 2020 Sustainability Goals.
Here’s how to participate in the 2018 program:
Denver residents who are unable to participate in Treecycle can recycle their trees for free at two drop-off locations through Wednesday, January 31:
It’s important for residents to keep in mind, extra trash crews will not collect trees before or during Treecycle.
All trees collected during Treecycle will be turned into mulch, which will be made available for free to Denver residents at the City’s annual Mulch Giveaway and Compost Sale in the spring!
