DENVER – Denver Public Works would like commuters to be aware of mobility improvements happening along a stretch of northbound Speer Boulevard beginning Wednesday, June 7, lasting through the weekend, that will impact traffic flow downtown.
On Wednesday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, a Denver Public Works crew will begin milling operations along northbound Speer Boulevard from Colfax Avenue to Champa Street. Two travel lanes will remain open along that stretch while work is underway.
Then on Thursday, June 8, at approximately 7:00pm, northbound Speer Boulevard will close from Colfax to Champa for RTD light rail repair and maintenance. That stretch will re-open Monday, June 12, at 4:00am. Northbound Speer traffic will detour onto Stout Street during the closure.
Drivers should expect delays while work is underway. The public’s patience and cooperation during construction is greatly appreciated. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
