Starting Monday, April 1, construction crews will be removing asbestos from an existing utility line on York Street between 38th and 40th Avenue. Working hours will be Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The removal will be complete within 4 weeks.
ABOUT THE REMOVAL: A licensed abatement contractor will remove materials containing asbestos and follow regulations from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment during the removal activity. The work site will be carefully controlled to prevent emissions, and the removed material will be bagged and transported from the site to a specially designated landfill for disposal. This work is conducted under close oversight by trained environmental professionals, and under proper City permits.
