City Park Golf Course Redesign

Denver Public Works and Denver Parks & Recreation are beginning work on the redesign of Denver's historic City Park Golf Course to revitalize the 18-hole course, improve and add facilities for golfers of all levels, and integrate course features that can serve to reduce flood risks in nearby neighborhoods.

The guidelines and requirements for this redesign were produced as part of a lengthy collaborative process with the public, representatives of the neighborhoods around City Park Golf Course and the golf community. The updated design will preserve the best features of the current course and retain the traditional Parkland style look and feel of City Park Golf Course, along with modernized amenities that will be enjoyed by neighbors and golfers alike for generations to come.

Project Updates: September 2018

Mass excavation work is complete. The final soil and feature shaping, with top soil movement and final placement, is ongoing. Fine shaping, golf features and bunker construction continues on the west side of the golf course. Seeding on the east side of the golf course is complete and mowing operations have begun.

Golf course irrigation is operational where seed has been installed — the water being used is recycled and provided by Denver Water.

The demolition of the existing 102-inch storm sewer is complete. The water quality channel is complete with the exception of the final shaping. Bypass pumping is complete and water will be flowing as designed through the forebay and water quality channel by early September. Construction of the new clubhouse continues. All utility and paving work in York Street is complete.

City Park Golf Course will be closed through 2018 and will reopen in 2019.
