City Park Golf Course Redesign

Denver Public Works and Denver Parks & Recreation are beginning work on the redesign of Denver's historic City Park Golf Course to revitalize the 18-hole course, improve and add facilities for golfers of all levels, and integrate course features that can serve to reduce flood risks in nearby neighborhoods.

The guidelines and requirements for this redesign were produced as part of a lengthy collaborative process with the public, representatives of the neighborhoods around City Park Golf Course and the golf community. The updated design will preserve the best features of the current course and retain the traditional Parkland style look and feel of City Park Golf Course, along with modernized amenities that will be enjoyed by neighbors and golfers alike for generations to come.

Project Updates: April 2018

Continued site preparation work. Work includes demolition of the clubhouse, clearing, grading, drainage of pond on site, and relocation of a Denver Water line (read below for more details about this work). Selective tree removal is substantially completed.

City Park Golf Course will be closed through 2018 and will reopen in 2019.

Traffic Impacts on York Street and 23rd Avenue

Construction for a waterline relocation near City Park Golf Course will begin the week of February 26 and will impact traffic on 23rd Avenue between Steele and York Streets, on York Street between 23rd and 26th Avenues, and on 24th Avenue between York and Gaylord Streets. Construction is expected to last approximately 2.5 months.

Beginning Wednesday, March 28, crews will close and detour southbound traffic on York Street between 26th and 23rd Avenues, while maintaining one lane of northbound traffic. The water line relocation work is expected to continue for about two weeks, with work hours from 7:00am to 9:00pm.

Access to the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum Nature and Science, and City Park on 23rd Avenue will remain open the entire time.
