Park Avenue Bridge Maintenance

Beginning in April 2019, Denver Public Works will be performing work beneath the Park Avenue bridge to replace bearing pads and repair the concrete substructure at the Wewatta and Delgany intersection.

Construction Information

Work on this project began in April 2019 and is on schedule for completion in mid-August 2019.

Crews have completed the following work:

  • Replacing 36 of 43 bridge bearings
  • Inspecting structures for damaged concrete
  • Repairing concrete

In August, crews will finish bearing replacement and concrete repairs. No further traffic impacts are anticipated.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM

Crews are working under the bridge on pillars located near the rail tracks north of Union Station. The project team coordinated with RTD and the railroads to minimize the need for traffic impacts on the travel lanes on the bridge.

During construction:

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained
  • If a Rockies game is scheduled at Coors Field while lane closures are in place, travel lanes will reopen three hours before first pitch.

This project was approved by voters as part of the Elevate Denver Bond Program.
