Landmark Preservation

If your project is in a local historic landmark district or if your property has been designated a historic landmark, Denver's Landmark Preservation staff must complete a design review of your project before you begin.

If you are unsure of your property's historic landmark status, enter the address of the property in the property lookup tool to the right.

Landmark Preservation approval required

Any changes that will require a zoning, building, demolition, revocable, and/or curb cut permit for work on the exterior of a building or site are managed through the combined efforts of CPD's Development Services and Landmark Preservation staff. Before proceeding with your project, please submit a design review application. Once approved, you will receive a "Certificate of Appropriateness" indicating approval for you to proceed with your project.  Visit Landmark Preservation for more detailed information regarding design review.
