Running for Municipal Office?

• Check the Council Districts and Precinct Boundaries map to make sure you meet the residency requirement. If you plan to run for a district City Council seat, you must reside in the district you plan to run in by May 7, 2018.
• Read the Municipal Candidate Quick Guide.  This quick guide provides general information on how to run for municipal office. 
• Read Clerk and Recorder Rule 4 Candidate Petitions to make sure you meet the qualifications to run for office.
• Read Chapter 15, Article III of Denver Revised Municipal Code to familiarize yourself with campaign finance requirements.
• Running as a write-in candidate? You must submit a notarized affidavit by Monday, April 22, 2019
• Create your political committee online.
