Public Comment Opportunities

The Denver Elections Division solicits public comment on a variety of documents, proposals, and other items as required by local, state, and federal law. Please find a list of items that the Division is actively seeking comment on below:

Active Public Comment Opportunities

  • Tax-related issues on the November 2018 General Election ballot - per the Colorado Constitution and Colorado law we will accept comments for and against each initiated and referred measure affecting debt or taxes. There is a 500 word limit on comments.  Deadline: September 21, 2018
    • Caring 4 Denver  (Initiated Ordinance)
    • Denver College Affordability Fund  (Initiated Ordinance)
    • Addt'l Sales Tax for Health Food for Denver's Kids  (Initiated Ordinance)
    • Parks Tax  (Referred Measure)
       
  • Non-tax related issues on the November 2018 General Election ballot - per local ordinance, for initiated and referred measures that don’t affect debt or taxes, the Office of the Clerk and Recorder will accept comments against initiated and referred measures. There is a 500 word limit on comments.  Deadline: September 17, 2018
    • Initiative Signature Requirement  (Referred Measure)
    • Clerk Appointee  (Referred Measure)
    • Police Department Hires  (Referred Measure)
    • Public Campaign Financing  (Referred Measure)

How to Comment

To comment on any of the opporunities above please include the following information:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Phone / e-mail address
  • Wet-ink signature (you may scan the document but it must be signed)

Submit your comment with the above information via any of the following methods:
