In 2003, a small group of city employees from the Leadership Enhancement And Development (L.E.A.D.) program created DEVO. Since then, Denver Employee Volunteer Opportunities, has grown from a class project to a network of over 1200 dedicated City employees finding ways to give back to our community through volunteerism. Working with community partners like Habitat for Humanity, Metro Volunteers , the Salvation Army and Brothers Redevelopment, Inc., DEVO has found fun, challenging and worthwhile opportunities for City workers to come together outside of their regular work schedules and with employees from other departments and agencies and make meaningful contributions to others who may need a helping hand.
Nearly 400 city employees have signed up to receive DEVO bulletins for volunteer opportunities. That's fantastic, but we can always use more help! If you are a city employee and would like to register for email notifications of volunteer events, send an email to DEVO@denvergov.org
Through the combined efforts of DEVO volunteers, city employees have created a more responsive city government by connecting the Denver community with city volunteer resources. DEVO continues to develop volunteer opportunities that have a positive effect on Denver and the economy. These efforts highlight the value that city employees bring to the citizens of Denver as well as improve the public image and morale of city workers.
You can always support our efforts by donating to DEVO through the DECC.
