Denver Human Services provides both assistance services and protection and prevention services to Denver’s most vulnerable residents. Assistance programs are provided to eligible Denver residents in financial need and include federal food, cash and medical benefits, as well as child care, child support, energy, rental and burial assistance. DHS assistance benefits are all designed to help families and individuals as they work toward financial self-sufficiency. Other assitance programs include Child Support Services, which helps insure invovlement from both parents in a child's life, and Veterans Services, which works with Denver veterans on job placement and retention.
Protection & Prevention services are provided via child, youth and adult protection, along with community-focused programming that includes in-home services designed to stregthen families and prevent abuse or neglect.
DHS is also home to Denver's Road Home, the city's program to assist those experiencing homelessness, and drug awareness campaigns.
DHS seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities with all services provided and is dedicated to working with our partners in the community. We welcome volunteers and partner organizations who wish to be more involved in our important work.
