Every Summer, students served by Denver Human Services (DHS) in our Child Welfare department are nominated by their caseworkers to be “adopted,” or sponsored, by generous donors in our community who purchase a backpack and school supplies just for them!
And for the first time ever, DHS will be hosting a backpack giveaway at the annual Parenthood Fair, where generous donations of backpacks and school supplies will be distributed to clients on a first come, first serve basis.
Last year, donors like you helped GIVE Denver provide backpacks to 1,800 students in need, surpassing our goal of 1000! With your help, our goal is to distribute 1,800 backpacks once again to the youth of Denver Human Services for the 2019-2020 school year!
Here’s how you can give:
Register here to “adopt,” or sponsor, a specific student(s) and then go shopping especially for them! Register to donate by July 31 to allow time for caseworkers distribute the supplies in advance of the start of the school year. Denver Public Schools begin August 19, 2018.
Help GIVE Denver fill backpacks by donating backpacks and school supplies. These backpacks will be distributed to families in need at the Denver Human Services #BeSupported Fair on August 10!
