GIVE Center

The GIVE Center, located at the Richard T. Castro Human Services Center, provides free, essential services and items to Denver residents in need, including families, foster youth, and people experiencing homelessness.

What You Need To Know

Our GIVE Center is open to all Denver residents in need of essential items or services. No referral is needed and you do not need to be a Denver Human Services customer.

We can connect you to essential hygiene items such as:

  • Diapers
  • Formula
  • Wipes
  • Shampoo
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Other hygiene products
  • Children's pajamas

Customers are limited to five hygiene items per month and 10 emergency diapers and wipes once every 90 days.

Additionally, we can also provide referrals to community partners for additional services, fee waivers for Colorado state IDs and birth certificates, and more.

Customers may visit the GIVE Center once per month for services, including hygiene items and resource navigation. Customer may visit as often as needed for New Eyes for the Needy assistance.

Our resource navigators serve as liaisons between our customers and community partners. We refer clients to community-based resources, including:

  • Food pantries
  • Clothing banks
  • Shelter/housing resources
  • Hot meal sites
  • Utility and rental assistance
  • Eye glasses referrals through New Eyes for the Needy
  • Re-entry service providers
  • Baby and prenatal resources
  • Senior support
  • Disability services
  • Mental health resources
  • Legal aid
  • Other lifeline resources

We're located on the first floor of the Richard T. Castro Human Services Center, located at 1200 Federal Blvd.

We offer walk-in services Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

By volunteering with us, you’ll be helping foster, homeless and disadvantaged children, veterans, individuals, and families. Additionally, you will contribute to making Denver a better place to live. We have various volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Call us at 740-944-GIVE (4483) or email GIVE@denvergov.org to learn about volunteering. In addition, check out our job listing for interns and volunteers to serve as GIVE Center resource navigators.

We are funded completely by donations – we need you to keep our shelves full of necessities for your neighbors in need. Donations are tax deductible and are accepted any time of the year.

Currently, the items we are in most need of are:

  • Hygiene items, including:
    • Deodorant, tissue paper, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, soap and body wash, razors and shaving cream, lotion, tampons and pads, hand sanitizer, toothpaste and toothbrushes, floss and mouthwash, hair brushes and combs
  • Baby diapers and wipes
  • New and gently-used clothing and pajamas (infant to adult sizes, including extended sizes)
  • New and gently-used backpacks, suitcases, and duffel bags
  • Sleeping bags and blankets
  • Cold weather accessories (infant to adult sizes), including:
    • Hats, gloves, scarves, socks, blankets, coats, hand warmers

Monetary donations are always welcome. Your tax-deductible contributions allow us to meet our clients’ emergency needs onsite if we’re running low on donated goods. Click here to make a monetary donation online, or you may mail checks, payable to Denver Human Services, to:

In addition, we carry out three annual drives — Spring Showers Hygiene Drive (May), Adopt-a-Student School Supply Drive (July-August), and Adopt-a-Family, Teen, or Senior Holiday Gift Drive (November-December) — to provide gifts and supplies to children and families receiving assistance from Denver Human Services. Keep your eye on our social media channels and this website for additional information on how to participate in these seasonal donation drives.
