The simple ability to purchase lotion and deodorant is out of reach for many people experiencing homelessness or struggling to make ends meet. Ordinary items like shampoo or toothpaste can make a world of difference for someone interviewing for a job or getting their kids ready for school. That’s why Denver Human Services is asking you to be a giver and donate hygiene items through May 31 as part of our fifth annual Spring Showers Hygiene Drive.

Mayor Michael B. Hancock today launched the expansion of Denver’s Property Tax Relief Program. Beginning May 1, families who own a home and earn 40% of Area Median Income or less can now qualify for the city’s Property Tax Relief Program. The more than 60-year-old program was previously called the Elderly and Disabled Tax Rebate Program and has served seniors and people with disabilities.
