23 Children United with Adoptive Families During Annual Denver Adoption Day

Laughter, joy, and a few tears filled the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse today as 23 Denver children were officially united with 20 adoptive families during Denver’s 15th Annual Adoption Day celebration.

Denver Human Services is launching the ninth annual Adopt-a-Family, Teen, or Senior Holiday Gift Drive. The drive pairs donors in the community with hundreds of families, teens, and seniors receiving services from DHS programs, regardless of their financial or family situation.

Denver Human Services Offers Annual Energy Assistance Program

Denver residents can stay warm this winter with help from Denver Human Services through the Low-income Energy Assistance Program, or LEAP, which begins accepting applications November 1. LEAP, a statewide program, is available for qualifying households through April 30, 2019. Applying for LEAP is simple. Applications may be requested by calling 1-866-HEAT-HELP (432-8435), or by visiting www.denvergov.org/LEAP.
