Denver issuing RFP for business assistance fund

Proposals sought for the continued delivery of Denver’s Business Investment Opportunity Fund in 2020
Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) is seeking proposals from future providers of its Business Investment Opportunity Fund (BIO Fund) within the City and County of Denver. The request for proposals (RFP) is now available at denvergov.org/economic development (under funding opportunities and RFPs).

Launched in 2019 as a pilot program that is being expanded in 2020, the BIO Fund provides small bridge grants to small businesses and entrepreneurs challenged by changing neighborhood conditions and demographics as well as major infrastructure and construction impacts. The BIO Fund is a component of the city’s larger efforts to assist, promote and advance community wealth building and responsible, equitable growth.

The RFP seeks experienced proposers already providing local business advisory and support efforts who can add the administration of the BIO Fund to its programs. The priority neighborhoods identified for 2020 are the statistical neighborhoods of East Colfax, Sun Valley, and Valverde.

A pre-bid meeting for all interested parties will be held on November 21, 2019, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Webb Municipal Building, 201 W. Colfax, Room 4.H.2. The proposal deadline is Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 4 p.m.
