2018/19 Affordability Program

The sidewalk repair program will offer extended repayment assistance and affordability discounts for those who qualify.

Who can apply for assistance?

Property owners of owner-occupied properties (single-family, duplex, or individually owned row homes only) who received a Sidewalk Repair Notice, select the city to perform the repairs, and who meet household income criteria listed below, may apply for financial assistance.

What affordability programs are available?

  • Affordability discount: A discount on the cost of repairs that would be provided to residents based on federally set area median income guidelines. Refer to the income table below to see if you may be eligible for a discount or extended repayment assistance.
  • Extended repayment assistance: Allows qualified property owners to repay the city for the cost of sidewalk repairs by making annual payments in three annual installments; a 1% annual loan fee will apply.

Property owners may qualify for a discount, a repayment plan, or both.

When can I apply for assistance?

If you have received a notice, you may apply at any time. If repair work has been performed and you have received an invoice from the city’s crews and need to apply for assistance, complete the application before the due date listed on the invoice.

If you are unable to use the online application and need to request a printed form to submit, please email NSRepairFinance@denvergov.org or call 311 and ask to be connected with the NSRP Affordability program.

Income Guidelines

Find your household member size in the first row of the table below (include yourself and all others that reside at the property as their primary residents).
Move down the column until you reach your total household income limit for 2017. Total household income is defined as all income earned by all residents of the home before any payroll deductions occur including taxes, 401k, or health care premiums.
The two columns to the far right indicate your discount rate and whether you are eligible for an extended repayment plan.

For example, a household of 4 with an annual income of $60,000 (before any taxes or payroll deductions) is eligible to apply for a 50% discount and the extended repayment plan.
