Department of Public Safety Launches Public Database

The data used to build the Department of Public Safety’s Denver Opportunity Index (DOI) is now available to the community. Launched in October 2018, the DOI is a philosophical shift in public safety service delivery. Using census tract data, the Department of Public Safety (DOS) identified areas throughout the city where residents’ opportunities to enhance their quality of life are less prevalent than others.

Public Safety Youth Programs Hosting 25th Annual Safe City Youth Summit

Public Safety Youth Programs’ Youth Leadership Team is hosting their 25th Annual Safe City Youth Summit on Friday, April 19 at the Denver Convention Center. The Youth Summit is a free, fun-filled event where young people ages 13 – 18 can attend interactive workshops and discussion groups to learn more about issues facing youth in the Denver metro area.

Denver 9-1-1 Recognizes Top Employees

On Sunday, April 14, Denver 9-1-1 Honored 2018 Employees of the Year during a ceremony that kicked off National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. There were nine awards given recognizing staff members from all areas of the 9-1-1 system including dispatchers, supervisors, training and administrative support.
