Board to Hear Noise Variance Request for Nighttime Work on I-70

Thursday meeting is virtual for first time ever

The Board of Public Health & Environment will hear a request for a noise variance from Kiewit Infrastructure Company for planned nighttime work on I-70 through 2022, on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place virtually via Zoom.

To simply listen to the meeting live, you can use a computer, a cell phone, or a landline. However, you must register here (use the password: BPHE) and follow the directions to listen in.

To make public comment on Kiewit's Petition for Variance during the meeting, you MUST register in advance here. You may sign up to make public comment during the meeting until 5:30 p.m. the day of the meeting—Thursday, August 13, 2020. In order to provide public comment, you must join the Zoom meeting via web browser or app using your computer or smart phone.

Kiewit is reconstructing a 10-mile stretch of I-70 between I-25 and Chambers Road, adding one new express toll lane in each direction, removing a 54-year old viaduct, lowering the interstate between Brighton and Colorado Boulevards, and placing a four-acre park over a portion of the lowered interstate.

The current variance expires September 6, 2020.
