The DFD Career Exploration Camp is an excellent opportunity that allows young adults to learn, experience, and recognize what a future career as a Denver Firefighter could be like. Campers will actually participate hands-on with emergency equipment skills while performing simulated fire and rescue situations. It is the mission of our instructors to instill participants with team building and leadership skills, along with valuable life lessons, while having fun! Our hope is to inspire these participants to consider working as a Denver Firefighter after their high school and college careers.
The Career Exploration Camp is three four-hour sessions and is dedicated to introducing local youth to what it is like to be a Firefighter with the Denver Fire Department. This camp is also a great opportunity for DFD Firefighters to help attendees build a sense of teamwork, responsibility and career awareness.
Camp will begin each morning at 9am at the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy 5440 Roslyn Building F, Denver, CO 80216. The day will end around 1pm at the same location.
Registration is limited and parents/guardians will be notified once their camper(s) has been confirmed to participate. The link for registration is below.
Once selected to attend, a parent/guardian must attend a mandatory orientation meeting starting at 6:30 pm on either Monday, July 18th or Monday, July 25th. The orientation meeting will be at the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy 5440 Roslyn Building #5, Denver, CO 80216, and is anticipated to end around 8pm. Again, orientation attendance of a parent or guardian is mandatory to attend the camp.
