PARK(ing) Day — September 20, 2019


Join Denver Public Works in celebrating PARK(ing) Day on Friday, September, 20. This annual world-wide event encourages the people of Denver, from businesses, community groups, schools, or other organizations, to help transform on-street parking spaces into parklets!

Interested in participating?

Denver Public Works is accepting PARK(ing) Day Applications until September 11, 2019. Approved applications will be permitted (for free) to convert parking for alternative creative uses on PARK(ing) Day. 

Materials

Submit completed applications by email to Curbside & Parking at parking.operations@denvergov.org, including all of the following information:

  • Request form
  • Example site plan with description
  • Meter bagging request (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Insurance

Partner with Denver Streets Partnership (DSP) on your idea for a parklet!

Denver Public Works has permitted over 20 metered spaces in downtown Denver for DPS’s use on PARK(ing) Day. Spaces are available and located on 1400 Larimer, 1500 Curtis and 1800 Wazee.

DSP wants to receive your interest and site plan to help make your idea happen. Information available at https://www.denverstreetspartnership.org/parking-day/

 

What's a parklet?

A parklet repurposes an on-street vehicle parking space into a mini-park, providing vibrant community space that extends pedestrian spaces into the street through seating, greenery, bicycle-scooter parking, libraries, activities/games, etc.
