Strong Sisters Documentary Community Dialogue Saturday, December 9th!

Strong SistersThe Denver Office on Women & Families is hosting a convening around the Strong Sisters documentary in partnership with History Colorado, Civic Canopy, Latinas Lead Colorado, and Colorado Black Women for Political Action (other community organizations) on Saturday, December 9th.

  • Colorado was the first state to enact women’s suffrage by a popular referendum created to secure voting rights for women in 1893. While other western territories, such as Wyoming and Utah, had previously given women the right to vote, Colorado was the first state to past this legislation.

Join us as we explore this part of history, in addition to discussing how systemic racism has worked to exclude women of color from politics.

Participants are welcome to explore the History Colorado Center exhibits for FREE before and after the event.
