The Denver Anti-Discrimination Office (DADO) works toward putting an end to discrimination in employment, housing and commercial space, public accommodations, educational institutions, and health and welfare services on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, citizenship, immigration status, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, military status, disability, and source of income.

There are important requirements if you wish to file a complaint.

  • The discriminatory act must have taken place within the boundaries of the City and County of Denver.
  • A discrimination complaint must be filed within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory act.
  • DADO does not cover complaints against government agencies (including all federal, state, or city entities).

Other important information to note if you are considering filing a complaint.

  • You do not need an attorney to file a complaint with DADO.
  • DADO operates as a neutral party throughout all phases of the process, including the filing, review, and resolution of all filed claims.
