Consumer Financial Protection Division

The Consumer Financial Protection Division is a newly created arm of the Office of Financial Empowerment & Protection to address changes in the federal role of consumer protection by addressing education, prevention, enforcement, policy and supportive services through counseling and navigation for residents of the City and County of Denver.

This program was developed to proactively seize and address the opportunities that exist to expand and better coordinate our current state of consumer protections to provide safeguards for our residents.

With this new Division, we will pioneer the way that the City and County of Denver protects and enhances the lives of all players in the marketplace, including consumers, businesses and employees. This work ultimately fosters stronger, more sustainable and thriving communities.

Victim of Wage Theft? We want to hear from YOU
At this time, the CFPD has launched a Complaint Management System to collect complaints on Wage Theft occurrences with employees working for employers in the City and County of Denver.

Submitting your case to our team starts the process of helping employees recoup lost wages while helping to bring justice to employers practicing unfair and unjust employment behaviors. An online form is available that begins the process for us to serve clients who have been victims of wage theft. This navigation tool will help us understand the situation and context of an employee’s situation with their current/past employer.

Wage Theft Form Submission Process
