Storytelling Lab: Health Equity Collaborative Goes Home Again

Home plays a vital role to our health and well-being. Whoever we are, wherever we come from, our access to opportunity and our ability to thrive depend upon the stability of our living situation, and our sense of home, our memories, help determine who we are and where we fit in the world. I Am Denver, in partnership with Denver's Office of Health Equity, invited collaborative members who work for health equity in our communities to talk about what home means to them in an I Am Denver Storytelling Lab. Please enjoy their video and audio stories below.

Michelle Garcia - "My first experience with homesickness was my first time away from home for more than a week. By week two, air of a different coast seemed hard to breathe and I dreamt of the breeze off the bay coming to interrupt the oppressively hot thick DC air. For days the refreshing gusts found me only in my sleep. Till one day I stepped outside into a brisk wind that felt like home, if only for a moment. My name is Michelle Garcia and I Am Denver."
