ACCEPTED ITEMS*

BRING THESE ITEMS AND MATERIALS FOR RECYCLING

  • Furniture and Mattresses
  • Yard Debris: brush, branches, organic material
  • All Clothing and Shoes: please keep separate from other waste
  • Cardboard
  • Large Plastics: kid pools, large toys, plastic furniture, bins, and baskets. No coolers.
  • Certain Types of Glass: windows, shower doors, and table tops only
  • Automobile Tires: no rims, no tractor or loader tires (limit 9 tires per vehicle: State Regulation)
  • Scrap Metal: all grades of steel, aluminum, cast iron, insulated wire, brass, and automotive scrap

BRING THESE ITEMS AND MATERIALS FOR DISPOSAL

  • Household Junk
  • Large (Bulky) Items
  • Old Furniture
  • Toys

 

NOT ACCEPTED
  • NO Construction Materials
  • NO Batteries
  • NO Electronics  and Appliances
  • NO Hazardous Waste
  • NO Paint
  • NO Liquids
  • NO Tree Stumps

Specific Scrap Metal Not Accepted:

  • Machines or other items containing gas, diesel fuel or oil of any kind (machines must be fully drained of fluids to be acceptable)
  • Tanks or canisters (unless they have a hole cut in them to allow inspection – simply taking valves out is not enough) and beverage kegs
  • Barrels, paint cans or any other container (unless it is whole with the top off and has been “triple rinsed”)
  • Transformers, ballast, capacitors or any other items containing PCBs
  • Oil filters
  • Refrigerators, televisions, computer monitors and flat screens
  • Any material not certified to have been properly evacuated of all CFCs
  • Radioactive material
  • Explosives – including fracking pipe
  • Asbestos
  • Propane, acetylene or any other type of gas bottle or canister unless a hole has been opened and all valves removed

The 2018 Great Denver Cleanup was a hugely successful event! Thank you to all Denver residents that took the time to bring us their hard-to-recycle items on Saturday, June 9th. Collected that this year's event:

  • 44 tons of trash
  • 17 tons of yard debris for composting
  • Nearly 1 ton of windows and glass panes for recycling
  • 114 cubic yards of donatable and reusable items (furniture, clothing, etc.)
  • 2 tons of cardboard for recycling
  • 95 mattresses and box springs
  • Over 100 appliances for recycling

We hope you feel good about recycling this material and enjoying your now cleaner yards and garages.
