The City of Denver recently implemented a security enhancement to better protect our online payment processing system.  As a result of this enhancement, we are no longer able to accept payments from non-current browsers. If you are using an older browser version, please upgrade your browser to the most current version so that you can access the online payment service.

Denver City Government Closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1

DENVER – Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year Holidays.

As a result of the holidays, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health will remain open Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1 as well.

3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will close at 3pm on December 24 and 31 and will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Service requests may be submitted via mobile device using Pocketgov or online at denvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org. ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL
The Denver Animal Shelter be closed on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce city regulations.

BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. No building inspections will be scheduled that day.

CITY COUNCIL
Denver City Council will be closing at noon on Friday, Dec. 22 and there will be no meetings the week of December 25. The council will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

CITY-OWNED GOLF FACILITIES
Golf courses will close at 2pm on Sunday, December 24 and will be closed Monday, December 25.  Golf courses will be open on Sunday, January 31 until 2 p.m., and open Monday, January 1, weather permitting.

CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE LICENSES
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

COURTS
The Denver County Court will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

DENVER ARTS & VENUES
All properties managed by Denver Arts & Venues, including Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center and Denver Coliseum, will be open for scheduled events and performances Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center, Trading Post and Ship Rock Grille, will be closed on Monday, December 25. The McNichols Building will be closed December 24 and 31.

DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The five Denver County Motor Vehicle office locations will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. For vehicle renewal online, visit pocketgov.com.

ELECTIONS DIVISION
The Denver Elections Division will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

HUMAN SERVICES
Denver Human Services will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1, however the child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be open and taking calls. To report suspected child abuse or neglect call 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437) from anywhere in Colorado. To report elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000. For all other adult protection calls, please call 720-944-2994.

LIBRARIES
All Denver Public Library locations will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Many of the library's resources remain available when the buildings are closed. For more information, visit www.denverlibrary.org.

OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TALENT ACQUISITION TESTING
The Office of Human Resources Talent Acquisition Testing Center will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Applicants will still be able to search and apply for open positions at www.denvergov.org/jobs.

OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER (CORONER)
The Office of the Medical Examiner (Coroner) will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Office staff will be available to respond to emergencies.

PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE
Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays and will be free Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted and to follow all normal parking regulations all other days.

The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Parking violations may be disputed online at www.parksmartdenver.com –  the citation number printed on the ticket is required. Payment may also be made by any of the following options:

  • Pay-by-phone at 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps using Visa, MasterCard or Discover
  • Pay online at www.parksmartdenver.com using Visa, MasterCard or Discover.

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement office will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

RECREATION CENTERS
All Denver Recreation Centers will be closed on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

All Recreation Centers will close at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 24 and Sunday, December 31. Drop-in Fitness & Aqua-Fitness activities starting before 2:30 p.m. will take place as scheduled. Registered activities including youth sports, arts, and swim lessons are not scheduled on Sunday, December 24 and Sunday, December 31.

TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION
Trash, recycling and composting will not be collected on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. Collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.

VEHICLE IMPOUND FACILITY
The Vehicle Impound Facility, 5160 York St., will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.

WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1.
