DENVER – Mayor Michael B. Hancock, the Denver Broncos and the entire city will honor the life and legacy of late Broncos owner Pat Bowlen by proclaiming Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, as Pat Bowlen Day. The Mayor will present the Broncos with the Mayor’s Gold Challenge Coin in Mr. Bowlen’s honor, raise the Broncos flag over the City and County Building and unveil the temporary street sign Pat Bowlen Way on Bannock St. The Mayor is inviting all of Denver to wear their orange and rally the Broncos to victory at the front steps of the City and County Building.
The Denver Broncos will commemorate the NFL’s 100th season with a “Fantennial Weekend” beginning on Friday and culminating in the recognition of Mr. Bowlen and cornerback Champ Bailey’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame during Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans at Empower Field at Mile High. Mr. Bowlen and Bailey will receive their Hall of Fame Rings of Excellence at halftime of Sunday’s game as the team also celebrates Bailey’s induction as the 33rd member of the Broncos Ring of Fame.
