Launched in October 2011 by Mayor Hancock, the Denver Education Compact (The Compact) is a collaboration between 20+ key Denver institutions to create a robust educational continuum for Denver’s youth, from cradle to career − where all students enter kindergarten prepared, graduate high school prepared, complete a postsecondary pathway and obtain a job. Part of this vision is that the City and County of Denver will attain and retain its educated workforce.
The Compact has chosen specific strategies to achieve its goals.
The Compact is an unprecedented commitment by major Denver institutions and leaders representing the City, early childhood, K-12, higher education, industry, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and teachers.
